How to level up, what are Skill Points, how to spend Skill Points

Last updated 10 days ago

You can enhance your Kami’s over time by increasing its level. Your Kami earns XP while harvesting MUSU and, with enough accumulated XP, you will be able to increase your Kami’s level.

With each new level your Kami earns a Skill Point. Skill Points can be spent to level up Skills, which in turn enhance your Kami’s Base and imbue them with that aid in their ability to harvest, liquidate, and protect themselves.

Skills are organized into Skill Trees, of which there are four. White it’s not strictly necessary for a Kami to stick to a single Skill Tree over the course of its growth, each Tree consists of complementary skills that reinforce certain Kami behaviors:

  • Predator: For Kami that like to kill other Kami.

  • Harvester: For Kami that want MUSU, fast.

  • Guardian: For Kami that want a defensive playstyle with long, high-output harvests.

  • Enlightened: For Kami that want to be as efficient as possible.

In-game you can view each Skill Tree in its entirety by clicking on your Kami and then navigating to the Skills tab. There you’ll see an array of skills to choose from along with how many Skill Points, if any, your Kami has contributed to them. Here’s an example of one such skill from the Predator tree:

Each Skill Tree has six tiers that become successively unlocked as you spend Skill Points. The first tier of Skills in a given tree is available to level 1 Kami. The second tier becomes available after 5 Skill Points are spent within the tree, and so on:

The skills at Tiers 3 and 6 only take one point to max, and are mutually exclusive with one-another. These can be thought of as extra bonuses in exchange for committing to a Skill Tree.

Each tier includes a different collection of Skills, the details of which you can view by clicking on them in-game. Skills can add points to any of the big four stats — Health, Harmony, Power, and Violence — but they also affect your Kami by applying more nuanced changes called .

You're able to fully reset a Kami Skill Tree by using a Respec Potion.
